Junior software engineer (mini job / student )

Who We Are

Watergenics is a startup based in Berlin that combines high-tech real-time sensors and AI in a water analytics platform. We are a data company that measures water-quality parameters. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior software engineer on a mini-job basis (10 hours/week) or student work basis (20 hours/week). This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing, networking, and programming in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in testing software programs to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
  • Perform basic Python programming and develop test scripts.
  • Utilize Python testing frameworks to create and execute test cases.
  • Work with Docker to manage containerized applications.
  • Document test results, identify bugs, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Planning the tasks and documentation is also a big part of this job.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Python programming.
  • Familiarity with Python testing frameworks such as unittest or pytest.
  • Understanding of Docker and containerization concepts.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but a plus):

  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
